Danish State Visit to Ghana

Queen Margrethe II of Denmark is on a 3-day State Visit to Ghana, from November 23rd to 25th, at the request of the Danish Government and the invitation of the Ghanaian Government, to strengthen diplomatic, political, and economic ties. 

On November 23rd, Queen Margrethe was received by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo at the Flagstaff House in Accra. Afterwards, she attended a enterprise and business conference, visited the Danish Business delegation, and attended a business lunch at the Hotel Kempinski.

In the afternoon, Queen Margrethe met The King of Osu, and visited Osu Castle (previously known as Fort Christiansborg) before visiting and Arts & Design Centre.

In the evening, the Queen (wearing her Turquoise Daisy Bandeau & pieces from her modern Turquoise parure) attended a state banquet hosted by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo at the Accra International Conference Center. Both the Queen and President gave speeches.

  1. I think Queen Margrethe is looking so very nice during this visit. Pink is such a happy color, and especially if you’re visiting a colorful, tropical country like Ghana. The Turquoise Bandeau tiara with elements of her turquoise parure were excellent choices for the dinner as well, bringing just the right amount of sparkle and color to the evening.
