Happy Birthday to Sarah, Duchess of York, who turns 58 today! The second daughter of Major Ronald Ferguson and Susan Wright, he mother ran away in 1974 and later married Polo Player Hector Barrantes. Growing up at Dummer Down Farm, she was educated at the Daneshill School and Hurst Lodge School. In 1986, Sarah Ferguson married Prince Andrew, Duke of York, the second son of the Queen, at Westminster Abbey. The Duke and Duchess of York had two daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, and divorced in 1996, though the couple remain on very good terms and lived together for many years after the divorce. Since her divorce, she has been known as Sarah, Duchess of York. She has continued her charity work and has appeared on TV. I wish her a very Happy Birthday and Many Happy Returns!

  1. Whatever her many faux pas in the world stage, I think she has been an excellent mother. I wish her joy on her birthday!
