Designed with input from Diana herself, this diamond and south sea pearl necklace and coordinating diamond and pearl earrings was made by Garrard, the Crown Jeweller at the time, in 1997. When it was worn, the earrings were still unfinished, so the Princess only wore the necklace.

Diana, Princess of Wales wore the necklace only once in public, at a performance of Swan Lake at the Royal Albert Hall in London, on June 3rd, 1997, her last official engagement. Since she had never bought the suite, it was sold just months after her death, appearing multiple times at auction since, most recently this February, when it was expected to fetch $12 million.
