Royal Tiaras- July 2017

July is usually devoid of tiaras, but this July, we have been blessed with a plethora of tiara appearances and occasions. In honour of the large amount of Tiaras this month, we are featuring all the tiara occasions below-

The first Tiara event came on July 8th, when Ekaterina Malysheva wore the Hanoverian Floral Tiara to wed Prince Ernst August of Hanover.

On July 10th, members of the Swedish Royal Family attended the wedding of their distant cousin Astrid Bernadotte in Florence. Queen Silvia wore the Napoleonic Amethyst Tiara, while Crown Princess Victoria wore the Cut Steel Bandeau. The Bride also delivered a surprise, wearing the famous Russian Aquamarine Kokoshnik Tiara for the reception.

July 12th brought one of the biggest tiara occasions this year, the grand Spanish State Banquet at Buckingham Palace. Queen Elizabeth II wore  the Brazilian Aquamarine Parure, Queen Letizia wore the Fleur-de-Lys Tiara, the Duchess of Cornwall wore the Greville Tiara, the Duchess of Cambridge wore Queen Mary’s Lover’s Knot Tiara and the Greville Ruby and Diamond Floral Bandeau Necklace, the Princess Royal wore the Aquamarine Pineflower Tiara, the Countess of Wessex wore Aquamarine Necklace Tiara, the Duchess of Gloucester wore the Gloucester Honeysuckle Tiara, and Princess Michael of Kent wore the Kent Festoon Tiara.

The next day, at the Guildhall Banquet, Queen Letizia wore the Spanish Floral Tiara, while the Princess Royal wore her Festoon Tiara.

On July 15th, Princess Nora of Oettingen-Spielberg wore the Oettingen-Spielberg Tiara to marry Lord Max Percy, son of the Duke and Duchess of Northumberland, at Schloss Hirschbrunn.

  1. Wow, that was quite a month! Seeing everything assembled in one place really brings home what a great month July 2017 was! I really loved the Spanish State visit and there were several aristocratic weddings that brought out several tiaras we hadn’t seen in a while. I hope August is not too much of a let down!
