  1. Hmmmm….We had just been commenting on the informality of this trip and here is the Duchess in an outfit that would have not been out of place in a 70’s pool party! I spy more faux jewelry too. Why didn’t she repeat the very nice ruby set she wore on the first day? I guess she was going for the boho look tonight and that would have been a bit too formal. And then again, maybe that was the dress code for the evening, “chic boho”, for which she was eminently perfect! I’ve no doubt she and the Duke are doing an excellent work cementing diplomatic ties in the countries they are visiting, but so far I’m underwhelmed by the outfit and jewelry choices of the Duchess.

I’m starting to think that this is on purpose. Look how Prince William wears the same suit in different shades of blue all.the.time. It’s almost like a uniform, like he doesn’t want you to notice what he’s wearing. I suspect his wife is of the same mind. They are striving for a “regular” look as opposed to a “bespoke look”. All that is very fine, but it’s a sad state of affairs for a royal watcher like me!

    1. I agree with you! As much as I adore splendour, we have to accept that this is how a modern monarchy works. As for the outfit, I would have thought tomorrow evening’s creative reception would have brought something this unique(?) but today called for something more formal. It’s not bad, just different!

  2. I know! It is different, isn’t it. We’ll just have to stay calm and carry on! 🙂
