Funeral of Countess Mountbatten

The Queen, Duke of Edinburgh, Prince of Wales and other members of the Royal family attended the Funeral of the 2nd Countess Mountbatten of Burma, cousin of the Duke and godmother of the Prince, at St Paul’s Church, Knightsbridge in London on June 27. The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh were accompanied by the Prince of Wales, Princess Royal, Sir Timothy Laurence, Duke of York, Countess of Wessex, Duchess of Gloucester, Duke of Kent, Princess Alexandra, and Prince Micheal of Kent as they attended the Funeral of Patricia Knatchbull, 2nd Countess Mountbatten of Burma at St Paul’s Church, Knightsbridge. Also present was her sister, Lady Pamela Hicks. and her daughter, India Hicks. Since the funeral, the Countess’s eldest son, previously known as Lord Brabourne, is now formally styled as the 3rd Earl Mountbatten of Burma.

  1. I am so sorry to see the older members of this generation die. My sympathies go out to the Royal family- and especially to the countess’ sister.
    On a trivial note, the wicker casket is intringuing.
