Royal Ascot 2017- Day 1

It’s that time of year again. The British Royal Family attended the first day of races at the Ascot Racecourse on June 20th. Royal Ascot is a permanent fixture on the British Royal Family’s June calendar. For the first day of Royal Ascot 2017, the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh were accompanied by the Prince of Wales, Duchess of Cornwall, Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Earl and Countess of Wessex, Duke of York, Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie, Peter and Autumn Phillips, Zara Tindall, Lord Vestey, and Lord and Lady Fellows for the carriage procession from Windsor Castle to the Ascot Racecourse. There was a moment of silence for the victims of the recent attacks, before the Royal Family and their guests spent the day in the Royal Enclosure. On Day 1, the races were the Queen Anne Stakes, Coventry Stakes, King’s Stand Stakes, St James’s Palace Stakes, Ascot Stakes, and the Windsor Castle Stakes.

The Queen wore Stewart Parvin coat with a Rachel Trevor Morgan hat, pairing her customary Three Strand Pearl Necklace with theSingapore Peranakan Diamond Jubilee Brooch. The Duke of Edinburgh wore Morning Dress with a Top Hat. The Prince of Wales wore Morning Dress with a Top Hat. The Duchess of Cornwall wore a white dress and hat with her Five Strand Pearl Choker with Pink Topaz Clasp.

The Duke of Cambridge wore Morning Dress with a Top Hat. The Duchess of Cambridge wore a white lace Alexander McQueen dress with a white hat and the Queen’s Bahrain Pearl Drop Earrings. The Earl of Wessex wore Morning Dress with a Top Hat. The Countess of Wessex wore a green Emilia Wickstead dress with a Jane Taylor Hat.

The Princess Royal wore a silk dress with pearls and a gold brooch. Princess Beatrice wore a Clare Mischevani Jardin dress with a Goldust milliner hat, Princess Eugenie wore a navy pillbox. Autumn Phillips wore a blue dress and white hat. Zara Tindall wore a blue dress and pale blue hat. The Countess of Snowdon wore a floral dress. Princess Michael wore a polka-dotted dress with pearls. Lady Gabriella Windsor wore a yellow dress.
