Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh attended Evensong at the Chapel Royal, Hampton Court Palace on June 13th to celebrate the Centenary of the founding of the Companions of Honour by her grandfather, King George V.

— The Royal Family (@RoyalFamily) June 13, 2017Upon arrival, the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh were met by the Dean of Her Majesty’s Chapels’ Royal, the Right Reverend and Right Honourable Richard Chartres. A fanfare was sounded before they processed into the Chapel Royal for Evensong. After the service, the Queen and Duke attended a reception with members of the Companions of Honour, including Sir David Attenborough, Dame Judi Dench, Dame Maggie Smith, Sir John Major, and Dame Mary Peters.

The Queen wore a floral dress with a lilac coat and hat, pairing her customary Three Strand Pearl Necklace with the Jardine Star Brooch. The Duke of Edinburgh wore a dark suit with a gold tie.
I can’t explain why, but it is heartening to see the Queen and Prince Philip look so well.
