Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall in Austria

The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall started their two-day visit to Austria on April 5th, after completing a 6-day visit to Italy. On Day 1, they were welcomed at the airport, visited a cafe, and toured the Hofburg Palace. In the evening the Prince and Duchess attended a State dinner.

The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall were welcomed at Vienna airport and went on a small walkabout before visiting Cafe Demel, one of the oldest and best known coffee houses in the city, where they watched specialised pastry chefs at work crafting the pastry for Apple Strudel.

Afterwards, the Prince and Duchess met with the President and First Lady of Austria at the Hofburg Palace. The Duchess of Cornwall and First Lady toured the Presidential Apartments at the Palace, while the Prince held bilateral discussion with the Austrian and British delegations.

In the evening, the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall attended a State Dinner at the Hofburg Palace hosted in their honour by the President and First Lady of Austria.

For the day events, the Prince of Wales wore a grey suit with a striped red tie. The Duchess of Cornwall wore a navy coat with white embroidery and her Four Strand Pearl Choker with Small Diamond Clasp. In the evening, the Prince of Wales wore Black Tie. The Duchess of Cornwall repeated a cream gown with her Magic Alhambra Diamond Earrings and Four Strand Pearl Choker with Large Diamond Clasp.
