Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall in Italy- Day 3

The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall are visiting Italy from March 31st to April 5th on advice from the British Government. They are based in Florence, and will visit Vicenza, Naples, Amatrice and Rome as well as the Vatican. On Day 3, the Prince visted Amatrice while the Duchess had a series of engagements in Florence.

The Prince of Wales visted Amatrice, a town that was badly affected by earthquakes in 2016, on Day 3 of the Royal Visit to Italy. He toured the town and laid a wreath at a memorial for the 238 people who were killed. The Prince also visited a community centre, and got to try some pasta.

The Duchess of Cornwall toured the world-famous Uffizi Gallery and saw some of the Renaissance treasures on display. Afterwards, she visited The Progetto Arcobaleno Association, a charity based in Florence that provides support to those in need, and met victims of human trafficking as well as a group of people learning italian. The Duchess also visited St Mark’s English Church in Florence, and laid a posy in front of a plaque put up in honour of her great-grandmother, Alice Keppel, who is buried nearby.

The Prince of Wales wore a grey suit with a red patterned tie. The Duchess of Cornwall wore a navy and white polka-dotted dress with a single strand pearl necklace and her everyday pearl pendent earrings.
