The Duchess of Cambridge attended the launch of a series of Best Beginnings Maternal Mental Health Films at The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists to raise awareness of the mental health challenges mothers face after giving birth and helping to start the conversations about the overall wellbeing of parents and their children as part of the Heads Together campaign. She watched the film and gave a speech about the importance of maternal mental health. Click HERE to read the speech. Afterwards, the Duchess joined a support group with other parents to discuss “how becoming a parent affected their mental health and how open and honest conversations with family, friends or other trusted people helped them get through the tough times.”
