Viceroy’s House

Viceroy’s House, 2017

I’m really looking forward to the upcoming British Indian-Historical drama film, Viceroy’s House, coming out on March 3rd. Directed by Gurinder Chadha, this film focuses of the tenure of the last Viceroy, Lord Mountbatten*, featuring the complex stories of upstairs and downstairs life in the majestic Viceroy’s House in Delhi in the dying days of the British Raj and the turbulent period before the Partition of Pakistan and India. Enjoy the brilliantly shot trailer above.

The lead role, of Lord Mountbatten, is played by Hugh Bonneville of Downton Abbey fame, while Gillian Anderson plays the infamous Edwina, Lady Mountbatten. Manish Dayal and Huma Qureshi play the roles of the main ‘downstairs’ characters. Director Gurinder Chadha met the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall a few weeks ago.
