Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall visited Hull in East Yorkshire on February 8th. They visited a refurbished Art Gallery, and then split up to visit charities they are patron of. Hull has begun to celebrate its year as the UK City of Culture.

Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall started their visit to Hull at the newly refurbished Ferens Art Gallery, where the Prince viewed exhibits while the Duchess toured the Education Gallery, meeting local school children who were taking part in a learning activity.

— Clarence House (@ClarenceHouse) February 8, 2017The Prince of Wales visited the Holy Trinity Church, and heard about the ongoing regeneration project currently taking place. Later he attended an RSC outreach programme, who put on a rehearsal of ‘The Hypocrite’ at Church of the Holy Apostles.

The Duchess, Patron of Emmaus, visited the charity, which supports formerly homeless people by giving them a place to live and meaningful work, helping to boost self-esteem. She had tea and chatted with people who live there before unveiling a plaque to mark the visit. Later, as patron of First Story, The Duchess celebrated First Story’s partnership with Hull, and met children taking part in a creative writing workshop.

The Prince of Wales wore a grey suit with a black and yellow striped tie. The Duchess of Cornwall wore a blue coat with her everyday pearl pendent earrings and what looks like a new pearl choker.
