Icelandic State Visit to Denmark- Day 2

On Day 2 of the Icelandic State Visit to Denmark, President Guðni Th. Jóhannesson of Iceland and Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark attended a seminar and engagements while First Lady Eliza Jean Reid and Crown Princess Mary attended events. In the evening, the Presidential couple hosted the Danish Royal Family at a reception.

In the morning, Crown Princess Mary and First Lady Eliza Jean Reid attended a meeting for The Mary Foundation at Frederik VIII’s Palace, Amalienborg. Later, they visited “Tante Olgas Børnehus” Kindergarten in Copenhagen. They also visited Copenhagen’s UN City, where they met representatives of the UN City’s Nordic offices.

Meanwhile, Crown Prince Frederik and President Guðni Th. Jóhannesson attended a seminar on innovation, sustainability and food production at the Confederation of Danish Industry in Copenhagen. They also visited State of Green, a private-public partnership between the Danish government, relevant companies and players within the energy sector. Later, the President and Crown Prince visited the International Council for the Exploration of the Sea.

In the afternoon, the President and First Lady and the Crown Prince Couple visited the University of Copenhagen, where the President gave a speech. Later, they also visited the Copenhagen Hospitality College, where they got an opportunity to taste various Nordic dishes the students had created.

In the evening, the President and First Lady held a reception in honour of Queen Margrethe and Prince Henrik at the waterfront cultural centre Nordatlantens Brygge in Copenhagen. The royal family attended the reception.

For the day events, Crown Princess Mary wore grey ‘weave’ dress, pairing it with a blue-grey coat and maroon accessories. Crown Prince Frederik wore dark grey suit with a knitted tie. In the evening, Crown Princess Mary wore a Dolche & Gabanna lace dress with a white coat around her shoulders.

For the reception, Queen Margrethe wore a red satin skirt with black lace top and ruby and gold earrings and matching brooch.  Princess Marie wore a metallic skirt and jacket. Princess Bendikte wore a silk dress and a fur ‘shrug’.
