Countess of Wessex

Happy Birthday to the Countess of Wessex

Happy Birthday to the Countess of Wessex, who turns 52 today. Born in 1965, Sophie Rhys-Jones had a career in Public relations when she met Prince Edward, younger son of Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh. They were made the Earl and Countess of Wessex upon their marriage in 1999. The couple have two children, Lady Louise Windsor and Viscount Severn. The Countess is one of the most hard working members of the British royal family, and does many official engagements on behalf of the Queen, and is regarded by many as her favourite daughter-inn-law. The Earl and Countess also attend foreign Royal events. As the future Duchess of Edinburgh, she supports the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, and cycled from the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh to Buckingham Palace in London as part of her DoE Diamond Challenge.
