Norwegian Royal Tiaras 2016

The Norwegian Royal ladies had a nice amount of Tiara appearances this year, starting with the official portraits released for King Harald’s Silver Jubilee in January, and continuing with a Gala dinner for the diplomatic corps in March, outgoing State Visits to Italy and Finland, a banquet during the Singapore State Visit, and a dinner for members of the Norwegian Parliament in October.

In January, before King Harald’s Silver Jubilee, the Norwegian royal court released a series of official portraits, including Queen Sonja in Empress Joséphine’s Emerald Tiara and Crown Princess Mette-Marit in both her Diamond Daisy Tiara and Amethyst Necklace Tiara.

 

In March, at a Gala dinner for the diplomatic corps, Queen Sonja of Norway wore Queen Maud’s Pearl Tiara, Crown Princess Mette-Marit wore her Diamond Daisy Tiara, Princess Astrid wore her Turquoise Circlet Tiara.

 

During a State visit to Italy in April, Queen Sonja wore the smaller version of Queen Maud’s Pearl Tiara, and wore the full version during the Norwegian State Visit to Finland in September.

 

Queen Sonja wore her Modern Gold Parure at the banquet for the Singapore State Visit to Norway, when Crown Princess Mette-Marit wore her Amethyst Necklace Tiara, and Princess Astrid wore the Vasa Tiara.

 

At a Gala dinner for members of the Norwegian Parliament in October, Queen Sonja wore Queen Maud’s Pearl Tiara again, Crown Princess Mette-Marit wore her Diamond Daisy Tiara, Princess Astrid wore her Turquoise Circlet Tiara.
