Prince Harry spent Day 10 of his Royal Visit to the Caribbean in Barbados, where his scheduled engagements were changed because of a torrential rainstorm. He visited Queen Elizabeth Hospital, which he had visited in 2010. In the evening, Prince Harry attended The Golden Anniversary Spectacular Mega Concert, where Rihanna also performed.

The change in schedule gave Prince Harry a chance to return to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, which he visited in 2010. The Prince met staff, and thanked them for working over Independence Day. He also met children in the Pediatric Ward, and spoke to a doctor about Barbados’s success in eradicating mother to child HIV transmission.

Afterwards he attended a reception at Officers’ Mess at St Ann’s Fort, where he met singer Rihanna, before giving a speech on behalf of the Queen, saying;”On this day of celebration, I send my congratulations to you on your Golden Jubilee of Independence. Prince Philip and I send our warmest wishes to the Government and the people of Barbados,Our countries have a shared history, shared values and an affection which continues to bind us.” Prince Harry then attended the reveal of the 50th Anniversary of Independence National Monument, where he unveiled the monument. In the evening, he attended the Golden Anniversary Spectacular Mega Concert, where he gave another speech.
