Wedding of Crown Prince Leopold of Belgium and Princess Astrid of Sweden, 1926

Royal Guests and Relatives gathered from around Europe to attend the Wedding of Crown Prince Leopold of Belgium and Princess Astrid of Sweden in a Religious Ceremony at the St. Michael and St. Gudula Cathedral in Brussels on this day in 1926, following a Civil Ceremony at the Royal Palace of Stockholm a few days earlier.

Crown Prince Leopold of Belgium, the son of King Albert I of Belgium and Duchess Elisabeth in Bavaria, married Princess Astrid of Sweden, daughter of Prince Carl and Princess Ingeborg of Sweden, in a Civil Ceremony in the Throne Room of the Royal Palace of Stockholm on November 4th, officiated by Mayor Carl Lindhagen and followed by a banquet hosted by King Gustav V.

A week later, Crown Prince Leopold of Belgium married Princess Astrid of Sweden in a Roman Catholic Ceremony at the St. Michael and St. Gudula Cathedral in Brussels, followed by a Procession through Brussels and a Banquet and Ball at the Royal Palace of Brussels.

Queen Elisabeth of Belgium (mother of the groom, wearing her Cartier Tiara), King Christian X of Denmark(uncle of the bride), and Princess Marie Jose of Belgium (sister of the groom, later Queen of Italy),

King Albert of Belgium (father of the groom), Queen Alexandrine of Denmark (aunt of the bride, wearing her Fringe Tiara and Ruby Bow Brooch), and Prince Gustaf Adolf of Sweden, Duke of Västerbotten (cousin of the bride)

Princess Ingeborg of Denmark and Sweden (mother of the bride, wearing Empress Joséphine’s Emerald Tiara) and Prince Carl, Duke of Västergötland (father of the bride), with Princess Margaretha of Sweden and Denmark (sister of the bride, wearing her Floral Tiara) and Princess Martha of Sweden (sister of the Bride, later Crown Princess of Norway, wearing the Turquoise Daisy Bandeau), as well as Prince Henry, Duke of Gloucester.

Grand Duchess Charlotte of Luxembourg (in the Emerald Art Deco Tiara), and Prince Felix of Luxembourg with Prince Axel of Denmark (brother-in-law of the bride)

Crown Prince Olav of Norway (cousin of the bride, later her brother-in-law) and Princess Hedwige of Bourbon-Parma (wearing the Chaumet Bourbon-Parma Tiara)

Princess Ingrid of Sweden (cousin of the bride, later Queen of Denmark), with Princess Margaret of Denmark and Bourbon-Parma, and Countess Marianne Bernadotte (wearing her Cartier Diamond Tiara).
