The Swedish Royal Family attended the Opening of Parliament (or Riksdag) on September 13th in Stockholm. The family attended a church service, before attending the opening of parliament, and later a concert in the evening.

In the morning, the Swedish royal family attended a church service in Stockholm, before moving on to the Parliament House for the opening of the Riksdag, where King Carl-Gustav gave a speech, after which he said ‘I hereby declare 2016/2017 Parliamentary Session open.‘ The King and Queen were joined by all three of their children, as well as Prince Daniel and Princess Sofia.

In the evening, the King, Queen, Prince Daniel, Princess Madeleine, and Prince Carl-Phillip attended a concert in honour of the Riksdag at the Stockholm Concert Hall, while Crown Princess Victoria and Princess Sofia stayed at home to look after their newborns.
