Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince George at Royal International Air Tattoo

The Duke & Duchess of Cambridge and Prince George attended Royal International Air Tattoo at RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire on July 8th. The Royals, attended the first day of the three day show which includes special celebrations to mark the 75th anniversary of the RAF Air Cadets. The Duchess is the Honorary Air Commandant of the Air Cadets.

This was Prince George’s first official engagement in the UK. A statement released from Kensington Palace said: “The Air Tattoo is a fantastic family-orientated event. The Duke and Duchess know that George will enjoy seeing the aircraft up close.” The family was greeted by Air Marshal Sir Kevin Leeson and Air Chief Marshal Andrew Pulford upon arrival, before meeting a group of young cadets.

They met members of the Red Arrows display team in front of a Red Arrow Hawk, and Prince George got a closer look at a Squirrel helicopter. He also got to sit in the cockpit. Prince George said: “Mummy can I fly the Red Arrow now?” “Maybe not right now” replied the Duke.

The family also got to take a look inside a massive Australian Air Force tanker, Prince George waved out the window. After exiting the aircraft, they went on a small unscheduled walkabout. Prince George was given a 75th Anniversary Air Cadets piggy bank.

The Duchess repeated a blue Stella MaCartney with a navy blazer. She also wore her Kiki McDonough Lauren earrings with an ‘Alice’ band. The Duke wore khakis with a white shirt and a navy blazer. Prince George wore navy shots with a white shirt and a pair of turquoise head phones.
