The Queen and members of the British Royal Family attended Day 5, the last day of Royal Ascot. The Queen had a winner for Day 5 on June 18th, her horse Dartmouth won the Hardwicke Stakes. The trophy was presented to HM by her granddaughter, Princess Beatrice. The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh were accompanied by the Prince of Wales, Duchess of Cornwall, and Princess Beatrice. Royal Ascot 2016- Day 4
Day 4 of Royal Ascot had a much less British Royal attendance than Days 1, 2, and 3. The Queen and Duke were accompanied by the Prince of Wales, Duchess of Cornwall, Duke of York, Princess Beatrice, Sarah, Duchess of York, and Prince & Princess Micheal of Kent. Royal Ascot 2016- Day 3
Day 3 of Royal Ascot, commonly known as ‘Ladies Day’ is synonymous with large and crazy hats. The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh attended Ladies Day on June 16th with the Earl & Countess of Wessex, the Princess Royal, the Duke of York, and Princesses Beatrice & Eugenie. Royal Ascot is a permanent fixture on the British Royal Family’s June calendar. HM the Queen attends all five days of the horse-racing event, while most members of the Royal Family attend on Ladies Day, the climax of the event. Garden Party at Hillsborough Castle
The Duke & Duchess of Cambridge attended the Secretary of State of Northern Ireland’s Garden Party on June 14 at Hillsborough Castle, Belfast. Over 2,500 guests were invited, to the annual event. It was TRH’s second visit to Northern Ireland. Earlier, TRH signed the condolences book for the victims of the Orlando Attack in London. Continue reading
Order of Garter Service 2016
The Order of the Garter Ceremony is an annual event at Windsor Castle attended by most members of the British Royal Family. The Order, founded in 1348, is the highest Order of English Chivalry. There can only be 24 Knights apart from the Queen and the Prince of Wales. Continue reading
Patron’s Lunch at Buckingham Palace
The Patron’s Lunch, the much anticipated finale to the Queen’s Birthday Celebrations, was held on the Mall in front of Buckingham Palace on June 12th. The lunch, held for the Queen’s Patronages, was planned by her grandson, Peter Phillips. Members of the Royal Family attended with the Queen, excepting the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall who were attending a street party. There was a lunch, a royal walkabout, followed by speeches, and and a parade. Continue reading
Trooping the Colour 2016
The British Royal Family attended the Trooping the Colour, the official birthday of the Queen, in London on June 12th. The Royals rode in carriages to inspect he guards, and then watched a flypast on the Balcony of Buckingham Palace. This was the second event for the Queen’s 90th Birthday Celebrations in June, there was a Thanksgiving Service at St. Paul’s Cathedral on June 11th, and the Patron’s Lunch will be held on June 13th. Queen’s 90th Birthday Thanksgiving Service
The British Royal Family attended a Thanksgiving service at St. Paul’s Cathedral in honour of the Queen’s 90th Birthday on June 10th. This was the first of the three events to be held this month, the finale of the Queen’ 90th Birthday celebrations.
