Queen in Northern Ireland
HM the Queen and HRH the Duke of Edinburgh visited Northern Ireland on June 27th and 28th. The Queen and Duke stayed at Hillsborough Castle, which was recently visited by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. The Queen had private audiences, unveiled a statue, attended a reception, and opened a new railway station. Continue reading
Prince Harry at Sentebale Concert
Prince Harry held a concert at Kensington Palace for his charity, Sentebale, on the evening of June 28th. The highlight of the evening was a performance by Coldplay.Other performers included Laura Mvula and Prince Harry’s friend Joss Stone. The money from the event will support Sentebale’s work helping vulnerable children in Lesotho, in particular it work at the Mamohato Children’s Centre which offers psychosocial support to children living with HIV. The Luxembourg National Day Gala is the grandest annual event of the small country. Members of the government, the bureau of the Chamber of Deputies, the Council of State, representatives of the judiciary, heads of the administration and foreign ambassadors are invited to the event. National Day on June 23rd is one of the grandest occasions in the small country of Luxembourg. National Day or Nationalfeierdag has been celebrated on June 23rd, five months after the birthday of the Grand Duchess Charlotte, since 1961. Duke and Duchess of Cambridge at EACH Gala
TRH The Duke & Duchess of Cambridge attended the East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices ‘A Taste of Norfolk’ Gala at Houghton Hall on the evening of June 22nd. The Duchess is the Royal Patron of the organization, she launched the nook appeal in 2014, this Gala was held to support and raise money for the appeal. The Gala was hosted by The Marquess and Marchioness of Cholmondeley at Houghton Hall, one of the finest Palladian houses in Norfolk. The Duke and Duchess are great friends with the Marquess and Marchioness, due to the proximity of Amner Hall, the home of the Cambridge’s, and Houghton. Continue reading

The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh visited the International Festival of Business in Liverpool on June 22nd. She appeared on the balcony of the Town Hall, and also opened a children’s hospital. On June 21st, the Queen personally tweeted a message of thanks for her Birthday Wishes. Continue reading
Duchess of Gloucester’s Tiaras
Happy Birthday to HRH the Duchess of Gloucester! The Danish-born Birgitte Eva Henriksen didn’t expect to become Duchess when she married Prince Richard of Gloucester, a cousin of the Queen Elisabeth II, in 1972, but the death of his brother, Prince William, six weeks after the wedding, and his father two years later, brought the couple to the center of the Royal stage. They have supported the Queen ever since. As Duchess of Gloucester, Birgitte has attended many official events and represented the Queen on foreign visits. The Gloucester’s have managed to keep their jewel collection almost intact, unlike their cousins the Kents. The Duchess has worn the many Gloucester Tiaras at State events for over 50 years!
