State Visits: Sweden and Luxembourg

We are in the midst of State Visit season. This week Sweden welcomed the President of Chile, while Luxembourg headed to Finland.

Sweden

On May 10th in Stockholm, the Senior members of the Royal family turned out to welcome President Bachelet of Chile. The King and Queen were present at the Welcome Ceremony and subsequent lunch at the Royal Palace of Stockholm.  crown princess victoria and Princess Sofia made an unscheduled appearance, since they are both on maternity leave.

Queen Silvia wore a red suit and hat with a three-strand pearl necklace. Crown princess Victoria wore a pink dress by The Fold London with a Philip Treacy headpiece. Princess Sofia wore a white dress and jacket with a fascinator.

In the evening, the King hosted a State Banquet. The Princess stayed at home, while the Queen attended with son, Prince Carl-Phillip, and her son-in-law, Prince Daniel.  The men wore White Tie. Queen Silvia wore Queen Sofia’s Tiara with a diamond necklace, and earrings.

Luxembourg

Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg started their State Visit to Finland on May 10th in Helsinki with a welcome ceremony at the Presidential Palace with President Sauli Niinisto and his wife Jenni Haukio.

In the evening a gala dinner was hosted by the Finnish President and his wife in honour of their guests. Grand Duke Henri wore White Tie with the Order of the White Rose of Finland. The Grand Duchess wore the the Diamond Vine Leaves Tiara  with her Ellie Saab gown.
