Royal Tour of India and Bhutan 2016

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge just finished a 7-day tour of India and Bhutan. They visited Mumbai, Delhi, Kaziranga, Bhutan, and Agra. Here is roundup of all our posts that covered the Cambridge Tour of India and Bhutan:

Day 1  – Mumbai

On Day 1, the Duke and Duchess of cambridge arrived in Mumbai. They were officially welcomed at the Taj Hotel, played cricket with children at the famed Oval Maidan, visited a Mumbai slum, visited the historic Banganga Water Tank, and attended a glittering Gala with Bollywood Stars in the evening. Day 2 – Mumbai / Delhi

The Duke and Duchess started Day 2 in in Mumbai, and then traveled to Delhi. They laid a wreath at India’s National War Memorial, and visited the last home of Gandhi. Later, the Duke and Duchess attended a Garden Party at the British High Commissioner’s Residence, celebrating the Queen’s 90th birthday next week. Click HERE to read the full post

Day 3 – Delhi / Kaziranga

The Duke and Duchess started Day 3 with an engagement with railway children in Delhi. They had lunch with the Prime Minister of India, and then moved on to Kaziranga, in East India, where they viewed a campsite dance for the celebration of Bohag Bihu, the Assamese New Year. Click HERE to read the full post

Day 4 – Kaziranga

Day 4 of the Royal Tour of India and Bhutan was focused on nature and animal conservation at Kaziranga National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, in Assam. The Duke and Duchess went on a rhino safari the morning and met locals at the Pan Bari Village, where they learned about rural life in India. Click HERE to read the full post 

Day 5 – Bhutan

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge arrived in Bhutan on Day 5. They were welcomed at the airport by a Princess, before attending an official welcome with King Jigme and Queen Jetsun Pema of Bhutan, where they lit candles in a Buddhist temple and took part in an archery competition and dart contest. Day 6 – Bhutan

On Day, 6 The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge went on a 6-hour hike to the Tiger Nest Monastery, and attended a reception for Bhutanese residents with links to Britain. Click HERE to read the full post
