In December 2016, Crown Princess Mary bought ‘a pair of diamond ear pendants each set with numerous brilliant-cut diamonds weighing a total of app. 9.50 ct., mounted in 18k white gold’ on auction at Bruun Rasmussen for 40,000 DKK, much higher than the estimate of 15,000–20,000 DKK.

Crown Princess Mary first debuted her Diamond Fringe Earrings in Norway, for King Harald and Queen Sonja’s 80th Birthday Gala at the Opera in Oslo in May 2017.
The following year, Crown Princess Mary paired the Diamond Fringe Earring with her Wedding Tiara at a Banquet and Ball for the Danish Government, Folketing, and members of the European Parliament at Christiansborg Palace.
Last year, Crown Princess Mary first wore the Diamond Fringe Earrings at an Official Dinner for Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the Knights’ Hall of Christian VII’s Palace at Amalienborg.
The most recent appearance of the Diamond Fringe Earrings was with her Wedding Tiara for the Banquet and Ball for the Danish Government, Folketing, and members of the European Parliament at Christiansborg Palace. There is no doubt we will continue to see these splendid jewels for years to come!
