بمباركة جلالة الملك عبدالله الثاني، تم في المملكة المتحدة عقد قران سمو الأميرة راية بنت الحسين على السيد فارس نيد دونوفان. وحضر عقد القران، جلالة الملكة نور الحسين، وسفير المملكة الأردنية الهاشمية في لندن عمر النهار وعائلة السيد دونوفان، وسط مراسم احتفال مختصرة، وفقا للإجراءات والتعليمات المتبعة إثر جائحة كورونا. وكانت قد تمت خطوبة سمو الأميرة راية على السيد دونوفان في السادس والعشرين من شهر تشرين الأول/ أكتوبر لعام 2019. يشار إلى أن سمو الأميرة راية، المولودة لجلالة المغفور له، بإذن الله، الملك الحسين بن طلال، طيب الله ثراه، وجلالة الملكة نور الحسين في التاسع من شهر شباط/ فبراير عام 1986 حاصلة على الماجستير بالدراسات اليابانية من جامعة أدنبره – اسكتلندا، ودرجة ماجستير ثانية من جامعة كولومبيا في نيويورك بالأدب الياباني، وتدرس حاليا الدكتوراه في الأدب الياباني في جامعة كاليفورنيا. With the blessings of His Majesty King Abdullah II, Her Royal Highness Princess Raiyah bint Al Hussein married Mr Faris Ned Donovan, in the United Kingdom. Her Majesty Queen Noor, Jordan's Ambassador to the UK Omar Nahar, and the Donovan family attended the brief ceremony, held in accordance with lockdown regulations due to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic. Her Royal Highness was engaged to Mr Donovan on 26 October 2019. Princess Raiyah, born in Amman in 1986, is the daughter of His Majesty the late King Hussein bin Talal and Her Majesty Queen Noor. She holds an undergraduate master's degree in Japanese studies from Edinburgh University in Scotland, a master's degree in Japanese literature from Columbia University in New York, and is currently a PhD candidate in pre-modern Japanese literature at UCLA.

Princess Raiyah bint Hussein of Jordan, youngest daughter of the late King Hussein and Queen Noor of Jordan, married Faris Ned Donovan, a grandson of Roald Dahl, at Buckhurst Park in Windsor, Queen Noor’s home, in the United Kingdom. Only Queen Noor, the Donovan Family, and the Jordanian Ambassador to Britain were present at the traditional Islamic Nikah ceremony, which was originally supposed to have been in Jordan in April, but was delayed due to the ongoing pandemic. Princess Raiyah is currently a PhD candidate in pre-modern Japanese literature at UCLA, while Mr Donovan is a prominent journalist. The press release states:
