— Casa de S.M. el Rey (@CasaReal) January 6, 2020King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain presided over the traditional Pascua Militar Ceremony at the Royal Palace of Madrid on January 6th. The King and Queen viewed the New Year’s Military Parade outside the Royal Palace of Madrid. After the National Anthem and a 21 gun salute, King Felipe reviewed the Royal Guard. Inside, the King and Queen attended a Reception for officials from the Government, the Ministry of Defence, and the Civil Guard in the Saleta de Gasparini, and King Felipe presented honours in the Throne Hall of the Palace. The event marks the beginning of the military year and a Spanish National holiday; Epiphany.

King Felipe wore the Lieutenant Colonel Uniform with the Neck Badge of the Order of the Golden Fleece, the Sash of the Royal and Military Order of Saint Hermenegild and the stars of his other honours. Queen Letizia wore a navy blue gown with the Countess of Barcelona’s Pearl and Sapphire Earrings.
