Nobel Prize Ceremony, 1976

Later today, the Swedish Royal Family will preside over one of their most glittering events of the year, the annual Nobel Prize Ceremony and Banquet, and we are taking a look at the Nobel Prize Ceremony on this day in 1976, the first time newlyweds Queen Silvia (wearing the Queen Sofia’s 9-Prong Tiara  and the Order of the Seraphim) and Princess Lillian (in the Baden Fringe Tiara and the Order of the Polar Star, just days after her wedding) were in attendance at the Stockholm Concert Hall.

Queen Silvia (wearing the Connaught Diamond Tiara), Princess Lillian (in the Laurel Wreath Tiara), and Princess Christina (wearing the Diamond Tiara) were also at attendance at the King’s Dinner for Nobel Laureates at the Royal Palace of Stockholm the following evening.
