Happy Birthday to Princess Isabelle of Liechtenstein, who turns 70 today! Born Isabelle Fernande Ghislaine Guillemette Elisabeth de l’Arbre de Malander, she was the youngest child of Jean de l’Arbre de Malander and Guillemette Grassal, and the goddaughter of Queen Elisabeth of Belgium. Growing up at the Château de la Cruce, she was educated at home before studying at the Institut Sacré Coeur in Brussels, and then studied music and classical ballet before taking classes in archaeology at the Musées royaux d’Art et d’Histoire. In 1971, she married Prince Philipp of Liechtenstein, second son of Prince Franz Joseph and Princess Gina of Liechtenstein. The couple had three sons, and lived in Basel, Switzerland, Vaduz, and London before moving to France, while the Prince worked in Banking. Not undertaking any official duties, the couple reside between Vaduz and Paris, and are often seen at royal events around Europe. We wish HSH a very Happy Birthday and Many Happy Returns!
