In the morning, King Harald, Queen Sonja and Crown Prince Haakon received the President in a Official Welcome Ceremony in the Palace Square, which was followed by a wreath laying ceremony at Akershus fortress. Later, the King hosted an official luncheon in honour of the President at the Royal Palace, followed by an exhibition showcasing Slovenian design.

That evening, King Harald (wearing the Order of St. Olav and the Royal Norwegian Order of Merit) and Queen Sonja (in Queen Maud’s Pearl Tiara with Queen Maud’s Drapers’ Company Brooch, the Order of St. Olav and the Royal Family Order of King Harald V of Norway) hosted a State Banquet at the Royal Palace of Oslo in honour of President Borut Pahor, which was also attended by Crown Prince Haakon (wearing the Order of St. Olav and the Royal Norwegian Order of Merit). Both the King and President gave speeches.

  1. It was so nice to see Queen Sonja back on the job! Her choice of Queen Maud’s pearl tiara was wonderful! And I believe that’s a 25 year old gown she’s wearing to the gala. Not bad for an 82-year old lady!

  2. It was so nice to see Queen Sonja back on the job! Her choice of Queen Maud’s pearl tiara was excellent. And it’s also excellent that she can still wear that 25 year-old gown at age 82! Amazing!
