King George V, Queen Mary (wearing Maria Feodorovna’s Bandeau and her Art Deco Emerald Choker) and the Duchess of York (wearing her Strathmore Rose Tiara) watch the Royal Variety Performance (which you can listen to above) from the Royal Box at the London Palladium on this day in 1935, during the Silver Jubilee Year and the last of the King’s Reign, just a few months before his death. The Earl of Munster and the Countess of Airlie (in the Airlie Tiara) were also present in the Royal Box.
