  1. I have always been intrigued by the Duke of Edinburgh’s family. One of his sisters, Cecilie, died tragically in an air crash and none of her children survived (even the daughter who wasn’t on the plane and didn’t die in the crash died a few years later of meningitis), but his other sisters were married and had lots of children. They are first cousins of P. Charles and his siblings, just.like David, 2nd Earl of Snowdon as well as his sister, Lady Sarah Chatto. However, I hardly every hear anything about the cousins from the D o E’s side. I can’t believe they never visited or did things together, but they have managed to stay under the radar, which is quite extraordinary!
