Happy Birthday to Crown Princess Sarah of Brunei, who turns 32 today! Born Dayangku Sarah binti Pengiran Salleh, as the third child and only daughter of Pengiran Salleh Abdul Rahaman Pengiran Damit and Dayang Rinawaty Abdullah (née Suzanne Aeby), she was a distant member of the Brunei Royal Family and educated at St. Andrew’s School in Brunei and the Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan Science College. In 2004, she married Crown Prince Al-Muhtadee Billah of Brunei, in the ‘Asian wedding of the year’, becoming ‘Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah binti Pengiran Salleh Abdul Rahaman‘. The couple have four children; Prince Abdul Muntaqim, Princess Muneerah Madhul, Prince Muhammad Aiman, Princess Faathimah Az’ Zahraa Raihaanul. After her marriage, Crown Princess Sarah finished school and studied at the University of Brunei Darussalam, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy and Administration, was a member of the University’s army cadets and on the netball team. The Crown Prince and Crown Princess Sarah have represented the Sultan at a variety of events, including the Inauguration of King Willem-Alexander and the Coronation of the Sultan of Kedah. I wish HRH a very Happy Birthday and Many Happy Returns!

  1. In her country, they stone people TO DEATH for being gay or for having an abortion. Can we all agree that, at the very least, nobody from this absolute monarchy should receive birthday wishes? At the very least.

  2. Greetings from Idaho! I’m bored to tears at work so I decided to browse your blog on my iphone during lunch break. I love the info you present here and can’t wait to take a look when I get home.
