Singapore State Visit to The Netherlands- Day 2

King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of The Netherlands are hosting President Halimah Yacob and First Gentlemen Mohammed Abdullah Alhabshee of Singapore, on two-day State Visit to The Netherlands on November 21st and 22nd to promote and celebrate diplomatic, economic, and cultural ties, especially education and innovation, social inclusion, the circular economy and water. The Dutch Royal Couple visited Singapore in 2013, on the last outgoing State Visit to Queen Beatrix’s Reign. Click HERE for Day 1.

On the morning of Day 2, President Halimah and Queen Máxima visited the Greenhouse Horticulture & Flower Bulbs business unit in Bleiswijk, a demonstration and research centre of Wageningen University & Research (WUR). In the afternoon, the King and President visited the technology department of Hogeschool Rotterdam at the RDM Campus, and spoke with various start-up entrepreneurs active in the areas of maritime logistics and the circular economy, after which they attended a business forum. Afterwards, they moved on to Delft, where they were hosted by Deltares, an independent institute for applied research in the field of water and the subsurface, and were informed of the latest research and developments in this field.

In the evening, President Halimah Yacob and the First Gentlemen joined Prime Minister Mark Rutte for a Government Dinner in the Trêves Hall at the Binnenhof, during which they will discuss the main topics of the state visit. After dinner, the President and First Gentlemen took leave of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima.
