French President Emmanuel Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron will be starting their State Visit to Belgium later today, and thus we are taking a look at the last French State Visit to Belgium in 1971, when President Georges Pompidou (wearing the Order of Leopold) and Madame Pompidou were hosted by King Baudoin (in the Order of the Legion of Honour), Queen Fabiola (wearing the Nine Provinces Tiara), Prince Albert (in the Order of the Legion of Honour) and Princess Paola (wearing her Diamond Necklace) at a State Banquet at the Royal Castle of Laeken. The following evening, the group attended a Gala Performance, and on the last evening, the President hosted a Return Banquet for King Baudoin, Queen Fabiola (in the Wolfers Necklace Tiara), Prince Albert, and Princess Paola at the French Embassy in Brussels.
