Wedding of Prince Philipp of Hesse and Princess Mafalda of Savoy, 1925

The Wedding of Princess Mafalda of Savoy (wearing the Hesse Ears of Wheat Tiara), daughter of King Vittorio Emanuele III of Italy, and Prince Philipp of Hesse at the Castle of Racconigi on this day in 1925. The couple had four children and remained happily married until the middle of WWII, when both of them were arrested separately, and Princess Mafalda died in a concentration camp in 1944, and Prince Philipp never remarried.
