Happy Birthday to Crown Princess Kiko of Japan! Born Kiko Kawashima in Suruga-ku, Shizuoka, Japan, she is the eldest daughter of Tatsuhiko Kawashima and Kazuyo Sugimoto. She grew up in the US, Austria, and Japan, and graduated from Gakushuin University and got her PHD from Ochanomizu University. In 1990, she married Prince Fumihito, the second son of Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko of Japan, becoming the first middle class bride to marry into the Imperial Family, and was known for a time as the ‘Apartment Princess’. The couple became the Prince and Princess Akishino, and have three children, Princess Mako, Princess Kako, and Prince Hisahito. The couple have a full roost of Royal Duties, and during the retirement of Crown Princess Masako, Princess Kiko served as the second lady of the Imperial Court. After the abdication of Emperor Akihito next year, the couple will become the Crown Prince and Crown Princess of Japan, and are expected to succeed Crown Prince Naruhito due to the system of Primogeniture, with their son succeeding them. I wish HRH a very Happy Birthday and Many Happy Returns!

    2. I’m sorry, but I don’t know who is The Real princess Alexandra of Norway and Luxembourg. Also, what does it have to do with Princess Kiko’s birthday? I’m afraid I’m missing something here. 🙁
