The Wedding of Prince Carl of Denmark and Princess Maud of Wales in the Private Chapel at Buckingham Palace in London on this day in 1896. Royal attendees included Queen Victoria (grandmother of the bride, wearing her Sunray Fringe Tiara), the Prince and Princess of Wales (parents of the bride, wearing her Wedding Gift Parure), Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Lovisa of Denmark (parents of the groom, wearing the Pearl Poiré Tiara), the Duke and Duchess of York (brother and sister-in-law of the bride, wearing the Girls of Great Britain & Ireland Tiara), and the Duke and Duchess of Fife (sister and brother-in-law of the bride, wearing the Fife Tiara) among a host of European Royal relatives. The couple had one son, and were elected to the Throne of Norway in 1905, becoming King Haakon VII and Queen Maud of Norway.
