The Duke of Cambridge is on an important visit to Jordan, Israel, and the Occupied Palestinian Territories from June 24th to 27th. We will be covering each of the the countries together rather than each individual day. In Jordan, the Duke was hosted by Crown Prince Hussein, who is the Regent as his parents are on an Official Visit abroad.

— RHC (@RHCJO) June 24, 2018The Duke of Cambridge departed the UK on RAF Voyager on June 24th, arriving in Amman, the capital of Jordan, where he was officially welcomed by Crown Prince Al-Hussein Bin Abdullah II at Marka airport, with whom he visited Fablab, an initiative of the Crown Prince Foundation that seeks to equip young entrepreneurs with the technology they need to realise their ambitions.

In the evening, the Duke met people from across Jordanian society and delivered a speech at a Queen’s Birthday Party at the residence of Her Majesty’s Ambassador, before having a private dinner with the Crown Prince Hussein at Beit al Urden, the Royal Family’s private residence, where he is staying. The two royals also watched the rerun of the England Match.

Thy also attended a celebration for young people benefiting from the Makani programme supported by UNICEF, hearing about the lives, challenges and hopes of these young people.

Afterwards, the Duke and Crown Prince traveled to the north of Jordan to visit a new base for the Quick Reaction Force (QRF), which has been formed with British military support, where they witnessed the QRF practicing pre-deployment drills and met British officers on attachment to the Jordanian armed forces. Later, the Duke visited the Dar Na’mah Centre – a project of the Princess Taghrid Institute (PTI) to support women of all ages to develop their own livelihoods and thereby support their families and communities. He met with women who have built the centre, tried some of their traditional food, watched them make crafts, and met with a group of young orphaned women who have been supported by PTI to develop skills and complete their educations.

— The Prince and Princess of Wales (@KensingtonRoyal) June 25, 2018In the afternoon, the Duke met with a number of young Jordanians and Syrian refugees who are developing skills to compete in the modern economy at the Al Quds College in Amman. He completed his visit to Jordan at Marka airport where he met with crew involved in the Jordanian Air Ambulance, and looked over their helicopters, before departing for Israel and the next leg of the trip.
I have great admiration for King Abdullah of Jordan, his family, and the Jordanian people. May God always bless them and keep them from harm!
