Order of the Garter Service 2018

The British Royal Family attended the Service for the Most Noble Order of the Garter at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle on June 18th. The oldest and most senior Order of Chivalry in Britain, click HERE to learn more about the Order of the Garter. This is the first Service since 2016, as last year’s Service was cancelled.

After a Luncheon in St. George’s Hall, the Garter Knights and the Royal Family processed to St George’s Chapel for the Service, while the Queen arrived by car. The installation of the new Garter Knights took place during the Service. Afterwards, the Queen and members of the Royal Family departed by carriages for their return journey to the Castle. Earlier in the day there was a private Investiture in the Garter Throne Room where a Lady Companion, Dame Mary Fagan, and a Knight Companion, Viscount Brookeborough, were invested with the Order’s insignia by the Queen. The Duchess of Cornwall, Countess of Wessex, Sir Tim Laurence, and the Duchess of Gloucester were also present.

The Queen wore a white dress with Queen Mary’s Floret Earrings and the Mantle, Bonnet, Collar, and Great George of the Order of the Garter.18
