A plethora of Sovereigns and Royals attend the lavish Order of the Garter Service at St.George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, on this day in 2002, which was preceded by a Luncheon at St. George’s Hall. Among the Sovereigns were Queen Margrethe of Denmark, Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands, Grand Duke Jean of Luxembourg, King Harald of Norway, and King Juan Carlos of Spain, who were in the United Kingdom to attend a series of celebrations marking the Queen’s Golden Jubilee, and attended a splendid Gala Dinner that evening.
