— Belgian Royal Palace (@MonarchieBe) March 14, 2018In the morning, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde flew from Ottawa to Toronto, where they first called upon the Honourable Elizabeth Dowdeswell, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, with a short meeting that was followed by an official welcoming to the Ontario Legislative Building and a meeting with the Honourable David Levac, Speaker of the Legislative Building. Afterwards, they attended an Official luncheon hosted by the Honourable Reza Moridi, Minister of Research, Science and Innovation of Ontario, which was followed by a signing ceremony and a tour of MaRS Venture Showcase. Their final engagements included a Canadian-Belgian CEO Roundtable for the King and a visit to SickKids for the Queen.
I love this soft aqua color on Queen Mathilde! It goes great with her coloring. I think she’s wearing Queen Fabiola’s diamond and pearl earrings, but I can’t tell which is her brooch. Do you know?
It’s an Art Nouveau pearl and diamond piece she first wore on her birthday a couple of years ago! It usually makes an appearance on State Visits!
Is it the one that has a central oval element and a couple of fan-like elements at the ends?
Yes! Here is a pic- https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-yIj6UlHOPXY/V_k91FtM6HI/AAAAAAAAZv0/kLkFbxS1J2Y8JrxzzXBHjVvG7nEBcE3SgCLcB/s1600/2016-1005-mathilde1.png
I love that brooch! I think it’s delicate but substantial. Great choice!
I agree! It is a great addition to a small collection!
It is very nice to see that King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium are having a wonderful time in Canada.
