Happy Anniversary to Prince and Princess Michael of Greece, who got married on this day in 1965 at the Royal Palace of Athens! Royal guests included King Constantine, Queen Anne Marie (wearing the necklace of the Greek Ruby Parure), Queen Frederica, and the Count and Countess of Paris. A non-dynastic match, Prince Michael, one of the few adult members of the Greek Royal Family at the time, renounced the rights of succession for himself and his descendants to marry Marina Karella (who wore the Greek Diamond Floral Tiara), the famed Greek artist and sculptor. The couple have two daughters and live between Paris and Greece.
