Wedding of Princess Benedikte of Denmark and Prince Richard of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg

Happy 50th Anniversary to Princess Benedikte of Denmark and the late Prince Richard of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg, who got married at Fredensborg Palace on this day in 1968.

King Frederik IX walked Princess Benedikte up the aisle of the Chapel at Fredensborg Palace, where the ceremony was officiated by the Royal Chaplain.

Afterwards, the King and Queen hosted a Banquet at Fredensborg Palace, where the King and the Groom gave speeches.

Princess Benedikte wore a Jørgen Bender gown with Crown Princess Margret’s veil and the Khedive of Egypt Tiara. Prince Richard wore White Tie with the Sash and Star of the Order of the Elephant.
