Happy Birthday to Princess Michael of Kent! The daughter of Baron Günther Hubertus von Reibnitz and Countess Maria Anna Szapáry von Muraszombath, she was born Baroness Marie Christine von Reibnitz and spent her childhood in Australia. She had already married and divorced an English Banker by the time she met Prince Michael of Kent (a cousin of the Queen) in the 1970s. They got married in Vienna in 1978, and though Prince Michael lost his succession rights to the throne (due to her catholic religion), he was reinstated in 2015. Princess Michael is an author, and one of her popular books, The Serpent and The Moon, is about her famous ancestor Diane de Poitiers. The couple have two children and two grandchildren and reside at Kensington Palace. I wish HRH a very Happy Birthday and Many Happy Returns!

  1. Happy Birthday to the Princess Michael of Kent! She looks wonderful at her 73 years! It looks like she escaped the whole brooch incident without consequences.

I was wondering if you know anything of her daughter-in-law, Sophie. She was injured in a car accident last December, but I haven’t heard anything since. I hope she’s recovering well!
