Wedding of Prince Philip of Serbia

Prince Philip of Serbia, son of Crown Prince Alexander of Serbia and Princess Maria da Glória of Orléans-Braganza, Duchess of Segorbe, married Danica Marinkovic, daughter of renowned Serbian artist Cile Marinkovic, at the Cathedral Church of St. Michael the Archangel in Belgrade on October 7th. This was the first royal wedding in Belgrade since that of the groom’s great-grandparents in 1922. The wedding festivities started the previous evening with a dinner for 400, hosted by Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine at the Royal Palace in Belgrade.

Prince Philip of Serbia married Danica Marinkovic in a traditional Serbian Orthadox Ceremony at the Cathedral Church of St. Michael the Archangel. Danica was escorted by her father, Cile Marinkovic, while Prince Philip arrived with his mother, the Duchess of Segorbe. The service was officiated by the Serbian Patriarch His Holiness Irinej, during which the couple donned crowns. After the ceremony, the couple drove off in a vintage car for the reception at the White Palace. In the evening, Crown Prince Alexander hosted a gala dinner at the Palace, where he gave a speech:

This is one of the most beautiful days in my life and I am overjoyed to share it with you! We are here to celebrate the beginning of Philip’s and Danica’s life together, for which we wish them to be filled by happiness and love. It is my duty and privilege to welcome Her Royal Highness Princess Danica to our home. I welcome her parents, too, wishing that good luck, health, harmony and family blessings will follow the new couple and through them our homes. Dear Danica, dear Philip, please know that you can always rely on our support”

  1. They look so happy as they’re exiting the church and being showered with rose petals. That is so lovely! I wish them joy!
