Wedding of Prince Hans-Adam of Liechtenstein

Happy 50th Anniversary to Prince Hans-Adam II and Princess Marie of Liechtenstein, who got married on this day in 1967. The couple have four children, and became the reigning Prince and Princess of Liechtenstein in 1989, eventually passing over most of their official duties in 2004 to their eldest son and his wife, to lead a life in quiet retirement. The wedding ceremony of then Hereditary Prince Hans-Adam of Liechtenstein and Countess Marie Kinsky von Wchinitz und Tettau took place at the St. Florin Cathedral in Vaduz, and was officiated by Johannes Vonderach, the Bishop of Chur. After the ceremony, there was a reception at the Vaduz town hall, another at Vaduz Castle, and a parade and public festival. Among the guests were Queen Anne Marie and Princess Irene of Greece, Queen Sofia of Spain (sister-in-law of the former and sister of the later), and members of the German Houses of Habsburg-Lorraine, Bavaria, Hanover, Württemberg, Hesse and Baden among others.
