Spanish State Visit to Britain- Day 3

King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain just finished their 3-day State Visit to Britain, from July 12th to the 14th, on advice from the Spanish Government, to strengthen political, economic, and cultural ties between the two countries. They were hosted by the British Royal Family, and stayed at Buckingham Palace for the duration of the State Visit. Click HERE to read about the Program, HERE for Day 1, and HERE for Day 2.

On the morning of their final day, King Felipe and Queen Letizia bid farewell to Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh on the steps of Buckingham Palace, where they had been staying for the past two days.

Afterwards, the King and Queen visited the Francis Crick Institute with the Duke of York, where they toured the institute and met members of the Spanish Scientific community working in the UK. Later, King Felipe and Queen Letizia visited the Weston Library in Oxford University, where they were met by the Chancellor, viewed an exhibition, and had lunch at the Divinity School, where the King gave a speech.

After lunch, the King and Queen visited Exeter College, home of the King Alfonso XIII Professorship of Spanish Studies and the Queen Sofía Fellowship in Spanish, where they attended a reception for Spanish nationals working and studying in the University and members of the University who are studying, researching, and teaching on Spain.

King Felipe wore a navy suit with a pale green tie. Queen Letizia wore a pale pink Topshop skirt with a white top and Queen Sofia’s gold and pearl earrings, debuted on Day 1.
