King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of The Netherlands were on a 4-day State Visit to Italy and the Vatican from June 20-23 to strengthen political, economic and cultural ties between the two countries. Later, the King and Queen visited the leading design museum La Triennale, where they talked about the historical, current and future cooperation between the Netherlands and Italy in the field of innovative water management, such as port development and interregional cooperation. Finally, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima visited the exhibition “Global Denim Awards” , where they saw innovative and sustainable creations by Dutch designers in collaboration with Italian weavers.

King Willem-Alexander wore a dark grey suit with a yellow tie. Queen Máxima wore a new Zimmermann dress (purchased during last year’s visit to Australia) with a large hat and amethyst earrings.
