Wedding of the Earl of Wessex

Happy Anniversary to the Earl and Countess of Wessex, who got married in Windsor on this day in 1999. Take a look at scenes from their wedding below-

The forty-five minute ceremony took place at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.

After the service, the couple rode in an open carriage to Windsor Castle for the reception.

Royal Guests included King Constantine and Queen Anne-Marie of the Hellenes, Crown Prince Haakon of Norway, Prince Joachim and Princess Alexandra of Denmark, the Sultan of Brunei with his two wives, the Prince of Asturias, Prince Georg Wilhelm of Hanover, Prince Hassan and Princess Sarvath of Jordan, Prince Guillaume and Princess Sibilla of Luxembourg, Count Cyril and Countess Cécile de Commarque, Hereditary Prince Philipp and Princess Xenia of Hohenlohe-Langenburg, Prince Nikolaos of Greece and Denmark, Princess Rahma bint Hassan of Jordan, Countess Irina and Count Alexander of Schönburg-Glauchau.

The new Countess of Wessex wore a hand-dyed ivory silk organza gown by Samantha Shaw with a Diamond Scroll Tiara, black and white pearl earrings and a necklace (a design of the groom), and a tulle veil. The Earl of Wessex wore Morning Dress.
